Graduation Day

Finally! We've got our diplomas! Next up, postgraduate diploma in ultrasonography :)

I couldn't have done it without the support and love of all those around me. Am thankful for each moments and everybody in life that make these moments count.

Chin Up!

Rag cloth ribbon. I just used an old colourful cloth to wrap it around my braid a few times to give it a more country, carefree and well, bohemian look. Love the warm colours of the fabric.

When life gets you down, give it a smile, get back up and tell yourself you're gonna make it through. It's a new day, and anything might happened. Don't go search for a miracle. Appreciate one right in front of you.

more on thoughts

Life lately has been very stressful as you can tell by the lack of posts. Time is limited and whenever there's free time, it is used up for a much needed rest. Today, however, the crave to do something creative overrides the need to rest. Spend time polishing up my painting skills and yes, amidst the hustle and bustle of life, the need to find back all those things that I used to do when I was a kid is in a kind of a way, relaxing. All those childish impulse, those childish hobbies that we cast aside as well, childish, are actually what tells us that we enjoy doing.

Also, amidst the busy-ness of life, thoughts about life's true purpose came pouring in. What we make ourselves do everyday, each day's routine, responsibities, what does it all amount to at the end of the day? Does it fulfill the purpose of us being here or we are just following each others' footsteps in doing what should be done as taught by the society?

Deep. Reflections. And Stressed. These words just about summed up my life as a sonographer trainee lately.

Lately {13}

1. Christa, one of the funniest people I know in college. Just by hearing her laughter is enough to make you smile.

2. Attended a Nick Vujicic (was taught to pronounce his name as Vui-jic) talk last night. It was really motivating and inspiring. Am grateful that I was invited (for free!) to attend that talk. Surely everything must happened for a good reason and we're all there for a reason too? :)

3. Lovely sunrise. Can't resist to take a snap when I saw it. Don't you just love it?

4. The boyfie and I. And I thank God for this wonderful person who love me to bits :)

Sighs

It's rainy today, and the sunrise today is not very grand, more subtle and gentle as it rained earlier in the morning. Yep, a good day to sleep in, but no, I have to wake up early for college. Seems like life fells into a sort of routine, and a very stressful one too, and sometimes too I wonder, whether this is all there is to life, or more is to come. More of what? That, I guess, I have yet to find out.

For now, I am busy, rushing after one due date to the next, and yes, how I long for the day when all this is over, I can finally sit down and relax, and look back and say, yes, I've been there, and I've done that :)

Today

Today is a new day. A day to start things anew. Forget the resentments of yesterday. Forget about the frustrations yesterday. Forget about the mistakes yesterday. Today is a whole new day to make new mistakes, to experience new things, to learn new lessons. Today is the day we're living now at present. Forget about tomorrow. Forget about yesterday. Today is the day.

Sneak Peak

DIY ombre jeans. All you need is some hangers, pegs, bucket, water, bleach. More about it in the coming post! Sorry for the long absence was busy with every week having presentation, assisgnments and discussions. There no tests now, and just think, next will be every week of all that plus tests! Oh help!

Hot Day

Looking at the first two pictures, who'd thought that Malaysia would have such a nice mountain view. Yep today is a hot day for Malaysia, and believe it or not I've actually found energy to go out for lunch with Jos and we even shopped a bit yay! ;)

Am glad for a day off where I can have my own me time. Am glad of the break before stress starts again Monday! Sorry that's what I've been talking lately huh? Stress and all. But yeah, studying the postgrad is definitely not easy but uhuh I will overcome it with my friends together. We must! :p

Oh wells. Time will tell how we progress but in the meantime, will be glad of any time off to relax and rest! :)

Lately {12}

Been a while since I've done a lately post. Lately I've been pretty busy. This week is Physics week and can't say it's not a challenge. Besides attending lectures, we have to stay back for extra time to practise scanning. Am still learning the technique and image optimization. Hopefully by the end of this week or next I'll be able to scan beautifully :)

New Dawn

It's been a while since I last updated. One whole week, to be exact. Have been busy with the new semester, which turns out to be every bit challenging as expected. Started the week by scanning for kidneys and aortas and beginning this week with Physics lecture from morning till evening.

Tired? Yes. Stressed? Yes. But can't say I don't enjoy the motivation it gave though, to be better and to push myself to the limits.

Have been waking up early lately in order to go to college early to fulfill the number of scans and such. Am enjoying my mornings where the air is fresh and cooling, and the sunrise is breathtaking. Managed to snap a few photos of it in between all the rush but I'm glad I took a minute to admire and take in God's wonder. Makes you feel somehow refreshed and all ready for the new day :)

Should prolly go hit the sack now, I reckoned, with these amount of sleep it's no wonder my cold doesn't get any better. Oh wells. Have a wonderful week ahead friends. Mine will be full of new stuff to learn and challenges to be overcome. Can't wait for it! :)

Mini Notepad

Hi guys! Am having a bit of Monday blues as yep today is finally my final exam!!! Super duper nervous!! Pray for me so that I'll do well? :)

A simple something to cheer myself up, below is a DIY/ refashion of a mini notepad (or pocketbook, which I quite like the sound of it!) and it's pretty simple really. Remember the lace bracelet DIY I've posted? I just use some of the leftover lace to do it. Here goes!

Thing you need:

A small notepad

Printed fabric

Lace ribbon

Glue gun/ super glue

First off measure the part of your notepad where you want to cover and cut the fabric according to size. Measure a strip of lace ribbon as the width of the notepad and cut it accordingly. Use a glue gun, or just any long lasting super glue, glue the fabric then the lace, in that order and tada! You have refashion yourself a new simple notepad! :)

I know lately there's been a splash of ideas and I'm loving it! Maybe we'll see if I can do a DIY marathon and do it for a week straight! It's definitely a challenge but I'm willing to take it on! :)

Dear Friday, thanks for coming so promptly! Today is the last day of my practical as a student radiographer!  It's finally overrr! :)

Dear friends and coursemates, it's been fun having practical with you guys, working together at the same hospital for 2 months! I'll miss seeing you! All the best in the future!

Dear N, can't wait for more dates after this now that I'll be much freer :D

Dear sun, thank you so much for drying my laundry so fast. Please don't go away yet! :p

Dear grey cells, please work extra hard for me to help think of a nice Mother's Day gift for N's mom? I'd appreciate that a lot! :) 

Another nail art I'd like to share this week! Hope you like it. (reminds me a little bit of a watermelon!)

Peach color for base coating, light palette color for nail tip bit. Hair pin as a dotting tool using black nail polish. 

Small and cute piggy bank (or should I say ladybird bank???) a gift from the hospital :)

Dear Carey, thanks for cooking dinner with me. It encourages me not to be lazy and to eat proper meals!

Dear bugs, you know I can't stand any of you no matter what sizes you are. Please, I do beg you to stop coming to see me! :(

Ramblings And Such

The weather here lately has been sunny by day, rainy by night. Which is a nice thing really, making the evenings cooler and not very hot nor stuffy. A lot of things has been on my to-do list for quite a while but there doesn't seemed to have time for them. Chores, work, time with love ones. Isn't there a time you'd wish that there's more than 24 hours a day or more than 7 days a week? This is one of those times for me.

Oh wells. Better get on with it. Hope your week is off to a great start! Have a productive week ahead! :)

Tide Of Change

My current room. Small but cozy. I'll be moving to a bigger, more spacious and hopefully less stuffy room in less than two weeks' time! Will have to say goodbye to my stained glass window that I painstakingly took the trouble to make! :(

Besides having a new room, I'll be also taking up a new course after I've finished this one. A lot of things are going to change and I'll have to make a lot of adjustments. But hey, life is full of challenges to be overcome each day in order for us to grow into maturity right? I'll be ready.

Mostly Today

Today isn't a bad Monday really but actually a pretty productive one. Training at the hospital as usual and yes! I went for ear piercing after work AND yup yup I've checked another item off my bucket list! :)

Choir practice wasn't so bad today. A bit of undercurrents here and there but yeah it's fine I'm glad I'm playing on schedule, not full time. Up part of the practice is I get to play together with N which I seldom have the chance to do so, if not rarely! And now we're playing the organ and keyboard together in church in public how awesome is that!

Optimism

It's been awhile since I really sit down and sketch. Am getting kind of rusty at it, will definitely need some practice and polishing up. Have been sick these few days thus the lack of updates, forgive me. However let's not focus on the downs shall we? There's always something good behind things that happened and I'm not going to let some virus spoil my day.

Things to look forward to:
1. Two more days to weekend! Can't wait!
2. Will be seeing my sister after 3 long months and she's bringing me something from home! Can't wait either!
3. Will be sitting with the church choir after last practise. Am looking forward to finally being a real member! :)
4. A possible date with N on Saturday? A surprise maybe? Definitely am anticipating for it!

There! I feel much better already. Boo to you mr. virus I'm going to beat you yet! I will get well soon you'll see!

ps: I passed my assessment today with flying colours! Another thing to be happy about hurrah! :)

Eventful Day

Was messing about with the blog's html codes and accidentally deleted all my previous template designs :( Imagine the frustrations I felt on top of a tiring day after spending almost 6 hours non-stop in the OT, rushing after public buses when our bus came late, small shopping trip to get myself ready for tomorrow's friend's wedding, etc. It was indeed a challenging day!

Please bear with me while I start on a new skin and hopefully it'll be better than the one before! By doing this means I'll have to change a few things here and there so all I ask is a little patience :)

Meanwhile, would love to share something nice to remind us that miracles still happen nowadays. So if you're wondering, yes I've been reading Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book Of Miracles to while away the time I had while waiting in OT for patients to come. Enjoy! :)

A Week In The OT

Hello! It's already halfway along the week and hopefully yours is better than mine! Twas tiring being in the OT this week. Having to pull and push the heavy C-arm, wearing the heavy lead gown and standing for hours in the operating theatre case after case is not my idea of a relaxing week.

One good thing about this is only two more days to go and I'm done with being in the OT! Wish me all the luck and strength that I need! God bless :)

Friday Fun

Had a bit of fun during our long lunch break (2.5 hrs for Fridays!!!) today. Took a bus went out with a couple of friends and we celebrated a belated birthday. Have always like birthdays. How do you usually celebrate birthdays with your friends or loved ones? :)

Went for Chinese food as our plan A for Korean food failed :(
