Time Off

Saturday, 23 November 2013

Sometimes, the best things to do when you're stressed are the things that are simple yet delightful. Like drawing, for instance.

Little Joys

Sunday, 29 September 2013

Did some paintings lately, can't say it doesn't bring any joy, especially after you saw how it turned out. Next week is going to be another stressful week so while it lasts, am just going to soak in the moment and enjoy the relaxing times I have left.

What are the things you'd do to de-stress yourself? Would love it if you'd share a few. Have a pleasant Sunday and a wonderful week ahead! :)

Lately {12}

Wednesday, 17 July 2013

Been a while since I've done a lately post. Lately I've been pretty busy. This week is Physics week and can't say it's not a challenge. Besides attending lectures, we have to stay back for extra time to practise scanning. Am still learning the technique and image optimization. Hopefully by the end of this week or next I'll be able to scan beautifully :)

From clockwise:
- Scanned by my coursemate
- Bit of caffeine to keep me awake in class in the afternoon!
- Inspiring bible quotes from rubber eraser
- Can you spot a kidney? no?

That'd about be how my week has been so far. Can't wait for weekend! xx :)

ps: Linking up with Laurie :)

The Marketplace

Saturday, 22 June 2013

Went to the marketplace yesterday with family. Haven't been to a real market in years ever since I went to   college. It's good to wake up once in a while early and join in the hustle and bustle of market life. Surely the things to see at the market is as interesting as the people there selling things and haggling for prices.

Maybe I'll go again next week, who knows. Have an awesome weekend! :)

Friday's Letters {6}

Friday, 24 May 2013
Dear weather, thank you for keeping the sun up so far, and also for the light shower you sent. It was just nice the timing to cool down the scorching heat.
Dear Jos, thanks for helping me to do some shopping. Am so ever grateful! :)
Dear internet, thank you for allowing me to while away my boredom by being fast enough to let me watch movies. You are seriously one of the things in life I can't live without!
Dear N, I miss you so! Have a great time with your family and friends alright? I can't wait for you to be back!
Dear grey cells, thank you for starting to get creative despite of the heat. I've lined up a few DIY-es coming up and I hope your ideas work! :)

Last but not least, a sneak peak of one of the many DIY ideas I'm inspired.

How's your weekend so far?

Friday's Letters {5}

Friday, 17 May 2013

Dear weather, just when I wanted to go out you started raining. And I've thought out a nice sunny day date outfit too. But it's okay. A change of a simple outfit for a simple movie date will do too :)

Dear Pancake House, you are still one of our favourite places to dine. I love the wall decor! :)

Dear cashier, thank you for allowing us to buy tickets at student's price! It was a nice and affordable Star Trek movie for two!

Dear night sky, thank you for holding up and staying beautiful and clear. I love the stars that you hung out for our date tonight! :)

Dear Jesus, thank You for reminding us that You are always here for us even in our everyday busy and hectic lives. Thank You for calling us here to experience Your true peace and joy :)

Dear N, thank you so much for an amazing tonight. I had a wonderful time with you as always. Thanks for bearing with me and helping me taking pictures when I know you're dead tired of walking. You're the best! :)

Overall I had a nice day today. Hope your Friday is good too! :)

Fringe Episode

Tuesday, 14 May 2013

This should make it up to the top 10 regrets list: Cut myself a fringe! :(

Was washing my hair yesterday and I had a sudden thought: my hair looks too straight, and it's getting kind of flat at the top, maybe I'll try a fringe or bangs. And so today I upped and went to take a pair of scissors, cut myself a fringe and immediately regret it!

Oh well. What's done is done, and thankfully, it'll grow back! :(

Fly With Your Dreams

Monday, 6 May 2013

Another project from the Inpo-posts finished! FYI this is just temporary tattoo ink so yep it'll washed off in around a week. But for now, I love it! DIY tattoo with tattoo ink and I get to practice at my drawing! Definitely two birds in one stone :)

Something Chinese

Sunday, 5 May 2013
Happy Sunday! So today is the long awaited 13th general election of Malaysia (GE13) and I'll be spending it whole day at home as advised for fear of trouble looming ahead if all does not go well. For a democratic country, that is saying much about the openness and progress of said country. Take away the dirty politics, the corruption, the injustice dealt to its people, Malaysia is still a beautiful country with lots to look forward to each new day. Oh wells nuff said.

Today I'm bringing to you something Chinese from the cookbook! Herbal Chicken Soup (I've posted before here but now I'm sharing the recipe with you!) and Fried Lady's Finger With Garlic (sounds horrible!).

HERBAL CHICKEN SOUP

My advice for this is to cook it one hour before meal time as you need to simmer at least 60 minutes for it. What you need:

A packet of Claypot's Ten Herbs Aromatic Soup Mix
Two bowls of water (depending on serving size)
Chicken (I used two drumsticks for two serving)

Start off by boiling two bowls of water.

Add in the soup mix after water is boiling.

Add in chicken (or meat of your choice) and simmer for around 60 minutes.

After 60 minutes, soup is ready to served!

FRIED LADY'S FINGER WITH GARLIC

This is a fast dish. All you need is:

Fresh Lady's Finger
Some chopped garlic
Oil
Water

Freshly chopped garlic

Sliced lady's finger

Some water

Pour a small amount of oil into frying pan and heat it up.

After heated, add in chopped garlic and fried until partially brown.

Add in lady's finger.

Add in water and cook till vege turned a deeper shade of green.

Ready to served! I added a bit of small fresh tomatoes as a decor and also because I love tomatoes! :)

That's all from moi today. Have a great week ahead! :)

Black & White

Saturday, 23 March 2013

These are the collection of black and white pictures I've taken so far. Am hoping to get better with photography with what limited sources I have. Someone told me once, do what you can with what you got, and I'm gonna try my best until I can do better.

Have been busy lately with settling down at the hospital and trying to adjust to hospital life again. Am sorry for the creativity lapse but will post up something fun soon! In the mean time, here's what I'd like to share with you. My ups and downs for this week.

Ups:
1. Hospital staff are quite friendly and helpful. Am getting used to the environment fast!
2. I'm getting on nicely with my blogging even though am still learning.
3. Get to spend time with friends and boyfriend and I'm thankful for that! :)

Downs:
1. Less time for creative stuff after practical starts.

Ways to fix my downs:
1. Plan my time accordingly in order to make space for everything!

Overall it's been a great week as there are more ups than downs! So, how's your week been? What are your ups and downs and how are you going to fix your downs? :)
