Chin Up!
Tuesday, 1 October 2013
Rag cloth ribbon. I just used an old colourful cloth to wrap it around my braid a few times to give it a more country, carefree and well, bohemian look. Love the warm colours of the fabric.
When life gets you down, give it a smile, get back up and tell yourself you're gonna make it through. It's a new day, and anything might happened. Don't go search for a miracle. Appreciate one right in front of you.
Hope your Monday was okay. Mine was good! :)

Lately {13}
Friday, 30 August 2013
1. Christa, one of the funniest people I know in college. Just by hearing her laughter is enough to make you smile.
2. Attended a Nick Vujicic (was taught to pronounce his name as Vui-jic) talk last night. It was really motivating and inspiring. Am grateful that I was invited (for free!) to attend that talk. Surely everything must happened for a good reason and we're all there for a reason too? :)
3. Lovely sunrise. Can't resist to take a snap when I saw it. Don't you just love it?
4. The boyfie and I. And I thank God for this wonderful person who love me to bits :)
So what have you been up to lately? :)

Today
Saturday, 17 August 2013
Today is a new day. A day to start things anew. Forget the resentments of yesterday. Forget about the frustrations yesterday. Forget about the mistakes yesterday. Today is a whole new day to make new mistakes, to experience new things, to learn new lessons. Today is the day we're living now at present. Forget about tomorrow. Forget about yesterday. Today is the day.

Winds In The East
Saturday, 6 July 2013
Seasons changed. People changed. Have I changed? Maybe. I've read through all my past posts in this blog and I've found out that it is mostly about the things I love to do and very little about me, well no, not personally. Maybe I feel uncomfortable about sharing my thoughts and musings publicly, or I just haven't found out who I really want to be yet.
A lot of maybes, I know, but life is full of uncertainties no? Well I've thought about a lot of stuff lately and I'd like to share with you more personally about myself, and what I think about stuff that I to me, really matters, like my faith for instance.
This blog is mostly about the superficial part of me and I'd like to start another new one, making it more intimate in a good kind of way. For those of you who'd like to read about it, you can find it at whimsical lady and follow for more, but for those who are more comfortable with this one, I'll still keep it for updates once in a while but unfortunately my focus would not be on this one.
Too long have I been hiding behind a shell, not daring to step out of my comfort zone, not daring to voice out my opinions for fear of what others will think of me. Well today, I'd like to change that and I hope I'll grow to be the person God wants me to be.
Thanks for being patient with me and for those who took time to read my blogs, I sincerely am grateful. This doesn't necessarily mean an end, no, surely it means starting with a new beginning and with the help of God and loved ones, I will get there.

Fringe Episode
Tuesday, 14 May 2013
This should make it up to the top 10 regrets list: Cut myself a fringe! :(
Was washing my hair yesterday and I had a sudden thought: my hair looks too straight, and it's getting kind of flat at the top, maybe I'll try a fringe or bangs. And so today I upped and went to take a pair of scissors, cut myself a fringe and immediately regret it!
Oh well. What's done is done, and thankfully, it'll grow back! :(

Eventful Day
Saturday, 6 April 2013
Was messing about with the blog's html codes and accidentally deleted all my previous template designs :( Imagine the frustrations I felt on top of a tiring day after spending almost 6 hours non-stop in the OT, rushing after public buses when our bus came late, small shopping trip to get myself ready for tomorrow's friend's wedding, etc. It was indeed a challenging day!
Please bear with me while I start on a new skin and hopefully it'll be better than the one before! By doing this means I'll have to change a few things here and there so all I ask is a little patience :)
Meanwhile, would love to share something nice to remind us that miracles still happen nowadays. So if you're wondering, yes I've been reading Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book Of Miracles to while away the time I had while waiting in OT for patients to come. Enjoy! :)
"I've learned that when we "explain away" miracles with science, chemistry or coincidences, we fail to give credit to where credit is due. God may be speaking to us, showing us, blessing us."

Appreciation
Saturday, 30 March 2013
Am sorry for the absence lately. Something went wrong with the internet connection and am thankful that it's fixed today. Have come to realize that I've always took something for granted until I realized the value of it after I lost it. Would learn to be grateful and appreciative more.
Easter is coming real fast. How's your preparation for it? After 40 days of penance I'm glad to celebrate the Lord's resurrection.
Have an awesome weekend ahead and Happy Easter! :)

Life At The Hospital Again
Tuesday, 19 March 2013
And so life at the hospital starts again, and this time, it's for 8 weeks straight. Time to see all sorts of white uniform around, time to see patients who are sick and suffering, time to apply what I've learnt for the service of the people. It's not bad actually, once you get used to it, but to see every day patients suffering and you can't do anything to lessen their pain. It's heart wrenching to watch.
What I've learnt from my on and off period of life at the hospital is, take good care of your health. Once it's gone, you have to pay for it big time.
It's funny how some patients always call those in lab coat "doctor". There's doctors, radiographers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, medical assistants and many more people who work in the hospital who wear lab coats but somehow, people just call them all doctors.
Hallway which for once today was quite empty. It's definitely a good thing which means there's less patients who are sick, no?

Gratefulness
Sunday, 17 March 2013
Have you ever have those moments when you suddenly realized how precious someone is, how at times you seemed to take them for granted and sometimes you forgot to appreciate them? Well I kind of have one of those moments now, when I realized what a blessing Nick has been to me, how sometimes I take him for granted and lose my temper easily with him.
He has always been loving, caring, patient and understanding with me in all circumstances and whenever I needed him he's always there. Never did once he ignore me, and even if we did quarrel, he always was the first to make it up to me. He is always trying to find ways to make me happy and to cheer me up, and never once did he fail.
I am lucky, aren't I? To have such a person who loves me and cherish me. It's always his kind and loving ways that make me feel ashamed of myself and tried to change to be a much better person.
Today, I thank God for him, for loving me selflessly and for teaching me how to be humble and patient. Love is not what we get out of it, but what we give of ourselves. That's the most important thing I've learnt being in this relationship.
